“The project was born during confinement. The restaurant was closed last year for five months, we had to find an alternative,” explains Aurélien Hourcade, catering technical assistant at Esat. Hence the idea of offering meals that are easy to take in or take away.

“All of Esat’s services were involved in the project,” recalls director Fabrice Guillaut. Thus the bins and wooden benches were made by around thirty carpenters and the park is maintained by green space agents. “It offers a nice space to relax,” notes the president, Anne-Marie Cavret.
Le Cabanon will be manned every day by two workers, one at the checkout and one in the kitchen. Tiffany and Alexia will take turns serving, Julie and George preparing the meals. “They will be completely independent, but can easily reach a restaurant supervisor if necessary,” explains Aurélien Hourcade.
When inaugurating the Cabanon, the president congratulated all the teams involved in this creation, “You can be proud of who you are and what you do”. “It’s nice to be highlighted,” admits Aurélien, one of the workers who has been involved in the project from the start.

A shed that has been around the world
Installed at the foot of a large fir tree, the Cabanon already has quite a history. “It was a container. It has already traveled around the world several times,” says Aurélien Hourcade. A company bought it, cleaned it and decorated it with wooden cladding which blends in perfectly with the Esat landscaped park.
