It was this month’s big release: the highly anticipated new album from Kendrick Lamarwas released on May 13, 2022. The first sales figures are available.
This is the great return of Kendrick Lamar: Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers came out ten days ago, and the whole world immediately caught fire. And not without reason: the rapper hadn’t released anything new since 2017 and his mythical album *DAMN.* Five years of absence, therefore, during which the fans had almost given up hope of seeing return their idol.
An explosive success
The 34-year-old artist finally released his new project and has been receiving compliments ever since. An almost unanimous validation which can also be read in the sales: according to Controlled Sounds, this new album would sell for 286,000 copies in the first week. Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers thus becomes the best-selling album in the first week of 2022.
Of this number, 250,000 albums have been sold in streamsand 35,000 copies are therefore physical sales. A success which can also be explained by quality guests, such as Kodak Black, Baby Keem or Summer Walker. But the most successful title would be, according to Apple Music, *N95.* A sound that will undoubtedly quickly become legendary, like the sound often made by Kendrick’s creations.
In short, without surprise, Lamar is again very heavy and has put glitter in the ears of the fans, of whom he has won back the heart as soon as the album was released.
