SpaceX will soon accept Dogecoin (DOGE)

The man the richest in the world continues to show interest in Dogecoin (DOGE). Yesterday, Elon Musk announced that its company specializing in aeronautics SpaceX would accept DOGE soon as a means of payment within its online store, like Teslawho has been accepting it since January.

And the possibilities of paying for purchases in DOGE could go even further, according to the multi-billionaire. When an Internet user asks him if it will eventually be possible to pay for his subscription star link with the memecoin, Musk responds “ Maybe one day “.

Unsurprisingly, as with previous statements by Elon Musk regarding cryptocurrencies, the price of DOGE observed a momentary increase. In the space of half an hour, the cryptocurrency has seen its course go from 0.078 to 0.09 dollarsan increase of just over 15%.

The increase, however, was very briefwithout too much surprise, the market having been generally at a standstill for 2 weeks now, hovering around $30,000 symbolic.

For comparison, when Elon Musk announced that Tesla would accept DOGE last December, the price of memecoin increased by 33%.

Head to the moon for the DOGE

Elon Musk has a rather singular opinion on the DOGE, memecoin which, as its name suggests, was originally a simple joke… which ended up degenerating to the point of occupying the 10th place on the podium cryptocurrencies, with over $11 billion in market capitalization.

Indeed, during an interview with Time Magazine dating back to January, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX had said DOGE is superior to Bitcoin (BTC) due to its higher transaction throughput.

It should also be noted that after accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment at Tesla, Elon Musk finally reconsidered his decision, arguing that the most important cryptocurrency on the market was too energetic. A point effectively against the tide of the billionaire’s ideology, one of whose leitmotifs is to reduce human energy consumption.

In May 2021, the self-proclaimed ” Dogefather also stated that if Dogecoin increased its block completion speed by 10 times, increased its block size by 10 times, and reduced its transaction fees by 100 times, then he would beat the bitcoin” easily ».

Let’s also remember that SpaceX has planned to send the DOGE “to the moon” – in the literal sense of the term – in the near future. Indeed, the aeronautical company has planned to send a miniature satellite into orbit to collect lunar and space data. The operation will be called ” DOGE-1 “.
